Attractions Course GSTCThe Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) is announcing the launch of its very first training course dedicated to the tourism attractions industry: the GSTC Sustainable Attraction Online Course. The course will help businesses and organizations understand how to integrate sustainability into the development, management, and daily operations of tourist attractions.

This inaugural course marks an important milestone in GSTC’s Sustainable Tourism Training Program, expanding its scope to address the specific sustainability challenges and opportunities faced by attractions worldwide, such as theme parks, museums, national parks, etc.

It has been crafted to provide professionals working in attractions with the essential knowledge and tools to apply the GSTC Attraction Standard effectively across the four pillars: sustainable management, socio-economic benefits, cultural heritage protection, and environmental stewardship. The standard was launched last year and developed with the support of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

The Sustainable Attraction Course has been carefully designed for professionals working in natural and cultural attractions, visitor centers, museums, theme parks, and other visitor experiences, as well as consultants and managers responsible for attraction planning, development, and operations. It explores how attractions can integrate sustainability into their core strategies while delivering high-quality, meaningful visitor experiences.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of what sustainable attraction management looks like in practice. Through expert-led content, live sessions with practical guidance, and real-world examples, participants will build the competencies needed to align attractions with global sustainability best practices. Guided by Arzu Kutucu Özenen, a GSTC Attraction Trainer with over a decade of experience in tourism development and heritage management. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a GSTC certificate of completion.

Whether an attraction is taking its first steps toward sustainability or seeking to strengthen existing initiatives, this new GSTC Sustainable Attraction Course offers a structured, practical pathway aligned with the GSTC Attraction Standard.

The Sustainable Tourism Training Program offers a range of courses delivered through online and in-person formats. All courses are available for private groups and can be customized to meet specific organizational needs. For more information, please contact training[@]gstc.org.
