

GSTC participated in the 3rd Thailand-Singapore Cruise Development Taskforce Meeting in Singapore, hosted by GSTC Member Singapore Tourism Board, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and advance sustainability within the cruise sector.
The meeting brought representatives from Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports and various government agencies to meet with industry partners to exchange knowledge and discuss best practices in sustainable cruise development.
GSTC General Manager Roi Ariel delivered a presentation on “Sustainability Standards and Certification for Tour Operators”, outlining global trends and the importance of the GSTC Standards in guiding responsible planning and operations within the cruise value chain.
Delegates also explored Singapore’s sustainability initiatives through site visits to Mandai Rainforest Wild Asia and Gardens by the Bay, providing practical examples of how to incorporate sustainability principles. The program additionally addressed the renewal of the Taskforce for the 2026–2028 term, reaffirming a shared commitment to deepening cooperation and supporting the long-term development of sustainable cruise tourism between Thailand and Singapore.
Established in 2022, the Taskforce serves as a platform to enhance regional ties and promote sustainable growth in Southeast Asia’s cruise tourism landscape. GSTC remains committed to contributing expertise and supporting continued collaborative sustainability efforts with the region’s GSTC Members.
